WEINGLO FAMILY INTERNATIONAL

Weinglo Family International (W.F.I) is a non governmental organisation who's into suicide prevention activism. With suicide trend growing day in day out in the country, W.F.I intends to educate the public on this trend and to help better understand the mental health issues associated with this situation.

Near Future Direction
  • To take the sensitization programme beyond the Senior High Schools and Universities by holding similar programme for workers in the various
    institutions /firms/workplaces across the country so as to help reduce the incidence of suicide among workers.
  • By bringing the sensitization programme to the doorstep of the citizenry by organizing these programmes in the various communities across
    the country.

Our Mission

Concern about Our Mission

To prevent suicidal tendencies in individuals by embarking on sensitization and training programmes.

We seeks to create a world where people are empowered to live their lives devoid of suicidal ideation and propensity.

To help reduce the prevalence of suicide by building the mental fortitude of individuals using data driven evidence based practices and personal experiences.

CLUBS IN THE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS: AS A MEANS OF REACHING THE YOUTH.

AIM OF THE CLUB (THE FOUR PHASES/STAGES

  • STAGE ONE:

    To sensitize and build the mental fortitude of students to reduce the incidence and prevalence of suicide through education, social case work and group work method of counseling in social work process.

  • STAGE TWO:

    To empower students through vocational training and entrepreneurship development programs.

  • STAGE THREE:

    To train students to become ambassadors and also equip them with the ability to identify suicidal behaviors in individuals in their schools/ environment and report appropriately to the trained authorities.

  • STAGE FOUR:

    To establish a suicide crisis support team (made up of selected club members and a counselor) in almost every Senior High School in Ghana whose task will be to respond swiftly and promptly to cases of suicide.
